Introducing Christian Joshua Yeo
The Yeo family is enroute back to China 7 years later to
bring home our God given son, Christian Yeo!
God’s agenda is often very different than ours, isn’t it? :) As Shekina was growing up, we would periodically talk about whether we should
expand our family. After talking and
praying about it, it seemed that was not the direction God was leading us. This topic came up numerous times over these
past 7 years as we would venture down the path for possible domestic/international
adoption and foster-to-adopt opportunities, attending various seminars and
researching various options but that never appeared to be God’s timing. However, on March 3, 2012 things changed! :) That was when I first set eyes on Bao Jun’s
picture, and there was a striking resemblance to Shekina – his dimple and smile
gave it away! Bao Jun (pronounced Pow Jun) became affectionately
referred to as P.J. Shekina, always up
for a funny joke or story, thought this was a hoot! :)
After talking it over with Denny, we requested for more information
from Great Wall China Adoption (who we had used when we adopted Shekina). Grateful for prayers from friends and family,
God was surprisingly opening the doors for us to move ahead this time. As those
of you have done international adoption can attest to, the monumental task of
the “The Paper Chase” documentation, homestudy meetings, Hague required
training, U.S. immigration submissions, notarizations, certifications,
authentications, etc in order to get your “Dossier” submitted to China was the
first half of the task. After various
levels of approvals from China, more immigration submissions and coordination
of all China government appointments and requirements while in country, this
has now prepared the way for us to pick up our son “Christian”. Shekina is thrilled to be a big sister (she
is literally 10 days older than Christian!) so they will be, in essence, like
twins! :)
Christian has been with his foster mom for the past 3-4
years along with 4 other foster siblings as is waiting for our arrival to bring
him home! :)
Share in our journey as we venture out in faith following
God’s leading!
